We are excited to welcome KunSik Choi as one of Okko Design's newest designers!
We are proud to introduce KunSik Choi as one of the latest additions to the Okko Design family. Based in Stockholm, KunSik is a talented Korean designer with an impressive background in both furniture and spatial design. After earning his BA in Industrial Product Design from Politecnico di Milano, KunSik worked in furniture design and fashion show stage design in Korea. He later moved to Sweden to further his skills in cabinetmaking, earning his Gesällbrev in 2015 from Capellagården, and completed a Master’s degree in Spatial Design from Konstfack in 2023.
KunSik’s design practice revolves around the exploration of materiality and form, with a strong emphasis on creating timeless pieces with a contemporary feel. His work spans across furniture, sculptural objects, and spatial design, blending a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship with innovative ideas. By collaborating with skilled manufacturers, he combines their expertise with his vision to create unique, functional, and artful works.
We are especially excited to introduce Open Wall, KunSik’s creations for Okko Design. Open Wall is a room divider that innovatively explores the balance between public and private spaces. It functions as a partition that fosters interaction without fully isolating different areas. The design blends straight and softly curved lines in a poetic way. Composed of three modular parts, Open Wall can be easily disassembled and reassembled, allowing for flexible configurations that provide either privacy or openness, depending on how it’s angled. The oval window connecting the interior and exterior spaces changes shape and size based on how the wall is positioned, giving users control over the degree of light and interaction.
